Internet Dating

Online dating... You've gotta love it. I'm always looking to hear and share stories about internet love... or at least the search to the love part. I personally have been doing this for years and can't wait to share my experiences and hear others as well.

A little lost...

So, online dating is still going on.... heard from a friend that she went out with a great guy from Retromatch. She's going on a second date and is really looking forward to it. The guy told her that he signed up on the site because he felt that having someone as a go between meant that the person he'd be dating is serious about having a relationship. She said that not only was he funny, smart and tall, but he was a total knockout! She couldn't believe that such a hottie would be on any type of dating site let alone RetroMatch. Anyways, I've just stumbled across another really kewl site called www.wevemet.com. Very interesting in it's approach. It's a quasy dating type of site that helps you get the one you let get away. Very kewl - check it out and let me know your thoughts on it.

Internet dating profile - how to....

Ok, so I've been thinking about this - what makes a good online internet dating profile? First of all you want to get noticed - so, first and foremost ladies and gents you MUST have a great picture posted!!! Profile's with pictures get more hits and responses then one's without. When I say a great picture - I don't mean one from 15 years ago when you were in grade school. I'm talking about a recent picture. One that is upclose and from a far so that your potential dates gets to see the full you up close and personal. Second of all - what you write is so important. Don't say that you're down, depressed, lonely or desperate!!! Those are all what I call "quick, run!!!" words. No one wants to be with someone who's lonely, depressed or desperate (even if you're feeling that way, you certainly don't want to market yourself out there as being such.) Third - talk about you - who you are, what you're about and what you're looking for. Goals -what are your long term goals? Speak about what you enjoy, hobbies, activities - what are your passions in life?

I think many times people get caught up in the rut of the dating world and therefore, tend to expose their not so great side first. Be fun, be flirty (not too flirty), but say what you would normally say to your friend. Be expressive. Both women and men (shocking right!?!??) like expressiveness. Let's not forget - this is all being done online so this is what they're seeing first and this is the first impression that they'll base a possible date on.

Try not to be too cocky about what you are - ie. you're a big shot lawyer who learns million a year - we really don't care!!! Don't brag about what you have ie. materialistic things, but do brag about being a really great person with a huge heart.

This is just the beginning to writing a great profile - don't give up - the right one is out there just waiting for you to post the right things in your online dating profile!

How to get dating down to a science?

Ok, so I've given some thought about Retro man and after speaking with him we've mutually decided not to continue seeing one another. Next.... Jdate man and I have gone out, but his story is very messy and therefore, I've once again decided not to continue moving forward with him. So, where does that leave me? That leaves me being all alone on New Years!

Happy 2006! - May we all get lucky and conquer the whole online internet dating things successfully!
