Internet Dating

Online dating... You've gotta love it. I'm always looking to hear and share stories about internet love... or at least the search to the love part. I personally have been doing this for years and can't wait to share my experiences and hear others as well.

Confused dater

Ok, so here I was all excited just a few short days ago after my RetroMatch date, but now comes the confusing part. I recently met someone off of Jdate.com and he sounds even better than the RetroMatch.com guy. I'm really confused since I have a policy of only dating one at a time. Truth be told, the RetroMatch guy is 4 years younger than me and I think that our experiences are some what different. I asked him why he dates older women and his response to me was that they tend to understand him better due to their years of maturity. What's there to understand? I mean listen, I'm not trying to knock the guy or anything - he happens to be really fabulous and has even called me a couple of times since we went out. I decided to send him an email telling him that I'm a little unsure as to where we go from here. I think he's great and all, but his lack of experience in the dating world and his being a little naive is a bit odd to me and something I'm not used to. I'll wait and see what he has to say, but till then I'm going to correspond with Jdate.com guy and see what becomes of him.....

RetroMatch Date follow up

What a nice date I had last night. My RetroMatch Date turned out to be everything I expected and then some. He drove 2 hours to get to my house (plus it was pouring outside and X-Mas Eve) and didn't complain - he did it with a smile on his face. I have found from my past experience with dating to be that guys want me to meet them some where in between and this guy happens to live quite a distance so I was extremely impressed. We went out to dinner locally and had a nice time. He was actually better looking than his picture (how often does that happen!?!?), so I was pleasantly surprised. Oh, and did I happen to mention that he's 4 years younger than me!!! Yup, that's right - he's just 26 years old - a baby, but he does look older than me in appearance. We ended the date on a nice note saying that we'd speak to one another - I'm sure we'll be going out again and I'm looking forward to it. I contacted my matchmaker dating agent on RetroMatch and gave her the update. I told her that statistically when it comes to dating the odds are generally in my favor and in this case I was beyond pleasantly surprised. We don't have plans yet as to when we'll be going out - he's going back home (to another country) to see his family, but I'm looking forward to his call. Kudos to RetroMatch for setting me up with a great guy!

One hour till he shows....

I have one hour to diddle dally around before my date gets here. I have butterflies on my stomach, my palms are sweaty and I can't seem to sit still.... On top of this all I actually had a guy from Jdate.com call me for a date!!! I just hope that these two don't know one another because that would be really embarrassing (I actually once had that happen - two single guys from different states who I accepted - they turned out to be roomates!!!! - HOW UNLIKELY!!!). Anyways, I have to go finish up the last minute touches before my date, but I have to tell you I can't wait for the day when I no longer have to do this dating thing!

Will keep you posted....

Online Internet Date Set

So, I've finally received an email from Mr. RetroMatch Man finalizing plans for tomorrow evening. I'm definately interested in this one and can't wait to find out what he's all about in person. I've recently been hearing more and more online dating match successes thru the internet. I can't begin to imagine how many success stories there have been, but I'm just hoping to be an added statistic to the world of online dating match successes. I will definately keep you posted on how my date goes and hope that this is the beginning to something bigger ;-).

RetroMatch.com Dating Schedule

I was all set and psyched for my date with Mr. RetroMatch until I came down with some 48 hour flu that put me right into bed! I had to email him to let him know that regrettably I had to reschedule due to my illness. He was so sweet about it and said that he only cared about my health and that I should take as much time as I needed since he wanted me to be in my best condition. I thought he was extremely understanding and thoughtful. I had this type of situation come up with a guy I met on Match.com and let me tell you that he reacted singing a totally different toon - needless to say I wasn't going to waste my time going out with Mr. Match.com and thank goodness he wasn't my match!!!

Anyways, I'm waiting till this flu totally passes before I make any plans (my bones are still very achey and my head is still on the verge of splitting.) I will keep you all informed on my dating status just as soon as I know when my date is!

Have a great weekend everyone!

RetroMatch Man Called!!!!

I'm so excited - I just got off the phone with my RetroMatch.com date!!! He sounds soooo adorable, personable and totally funny - he had me cracking up for the entire conversation. He actually asked me how I came to RetroMatch.com and thought it was such an ingenious idea for the maker to create. He lives over an hour away from me so, we're working on when we're going to be going out, but I have to tell you that for the first time in a really long time I'm actually looking forward to having a date! Kudos to RetroMatch.com and thanks for getting me pumped up and looking forward to my date.

RetroMatch.com Date

Only a few hours into sign up and I've already been contacted by my wonderful www.RetroMatch.com dating agent (what a lovely and totally sweet, understanding woman!) who has already sent me a potential match. I'm so excited about this one - I never get excited about the online dating process, but I feel like this one really has some sort of deep potential and he's totally adorable! I've already clicked the "accept" match button and now I'm going to wait and see if he does the same. I have to say that I'm pretty confident that he will accept the match considering that he even took the time to meet face to face with our dating agent. I'm very psyched - oops, I've already mentioned that haven't I?

I have my friends telling me how happy they are with the site and with the dating agents that who are available for them to choose. I sent them the site and they can tell that there's something very special about the RetroMatch.com process that's different from all other sites out there. RetroMatch allows you to choose from all different types of backgrounds, ages and matches you up with those who meet your expectations.

Dating has never been easy, but I'm crossing my fingers and feel like I really RetroMatch.com is going to be my final solution.

Check it out www.RetroMatch.com and I'd love to hear feedback!

New Site!!!!

I'm so excited - I must tell the world about this new site that I recently found. It's called www.RetroMatch.com. www.RetroMatch.com encompasses a whole lot of great stuff into one site. RetroMatch.com is 100% private, descreet and provides quality people with quality matchmakers to boot. www.RetroMatch.com was created for those who are looking to meet someone for a serious marriage minded relationship. They've taken the old fashioned way of doing things - ie. Matchmakers and combined it with the new wave of internet technology. www.RetroMatch.com gives you a choice of membership. You can become a member FREE of charge, but that limits you as to how many matches you can receive (ie. one per week) and limits you to be able to use the dating agents/matchmakers on the site. Gold Membership is extremely low in cost and allows you to use all of the great features that the site has to offer ie. Personal Matchmakers, up to 10 matches per week, individual meetings with dating agents, ability to accept matches and a whole lot more! I have already signed up to www.retromatch.com- (Very easy sign up process I must say) and I've already begun my search to finding my perfect dating agent and my perfect man!

I totally recommend this site and I actually know one of the couples that met on it - the Randy and Jennifer Story. She had been in the dating scene forever and had gone out with numberous men.... www.RetroMatch.com totally changed her life and she's singing their praises. I can't wait to have my story posted and I'll keep you posted to my dating experience with www.RetroMatch.com.

Dating Sites - Know them?

I recently found the following sites as online dating / internet dating sites... I don't have any experience with these dating sites, but was wondering if anyone has any information/experience about that. When looking for love you can never stop at what you know, but dating has never been an easy thing - especially for me.

If you know about these dating sites I'd love to hear more.....

InternetDating - Anyone ever hear of
www.FriendFinder.com
www.americanSingles.com
www.perfectmatch.com
www.date.com
www.soulmate.com
www.coolintros.com
www.datinghappy.com

New Site Signed up

So, I recently found a new site (I'll leave out it's name). I joined only to be contacted by men - actually, I should say boys considering their age - 20!!! That's a whole 10 year age difference. Now, why in the world would a 20 year old want someone old enough to be his sister!?! The reasons go way beyond my understanding....

I tried to explain that I was looking for someone mature, stable and established - to which I was told that he's a whole lot more than that and can offer me so much more than these older men. I figured at that point this new site was totally not for me and that I'd be so much better off sticking with the usuals ala: Jdate.com, Eharmony.com and Yahoo Personals.

I'm still waiting for feedback for some new up and coming exciting sites......

Waiting for dating to start happening.......

So many jerks... so little time

Oh man - my recent online set up turns out to be a total flop! This lady knows this guy (of course she doesn't tell me how well or how unwell she knows him) and she tells me that he's on Jdate... Well, I happen to be a Jdate.com member as well. So, I go ahead and look him up only to find out that he's already been checking me out (too chicken to contact me). Well, being that I want to get married soooo bad - I went ahead and contacted him. I think I freaked him out a bit by being so upfront and approachable - I mean like c'mon we are in the year 2005 - are we not!??! Anyways, I ask him if he's asking me out or what the deal is (I know - very forward - tis me!) He tells me that he'd like to know if we should go out on our own or if we should go ahead and go thru the matchmaker - umm.... duh duh - why would I go thru a matchmaker if I'm speaking with you on Jdate.com. Long story short I ended up emailing him my number. I was downstairs typing away (looking for other men) when I suddenly hear my answering machine go off at 11:50 PM!!!! What a chutzpah! Who calls someone without notice so late? Anyways, I ended up calling him right back (not too sure why I even did that - desperation perhaps?) and at first I thought he was drunk. I couldn't understand a word the guy was saying. He literally sounded as if he had a load of marbles in his mouth.

His number one question to me was what my goals in life were.... I told him I can't wait to be a great wife and an even better mother - a little old fashioned, but hey - that's what I'm all about. He was surprised to hear me say that. Mind you this guy is a whole 35 going on 15.... Anyways, his next question how I wanted to raise my household - ie. if I wanted to have a TV or not because ya see that was the million dollar question. A TV!?!??! How silly is that - the world is filled with millions of people and you're a little no one trying to find that needle in a hay stack - you future mate and you're willing to toss it away for a silly TV!?!? Right away I knew I was dealing with someone who desperately needed to take dating 101 - ie. Dating for Dummies.

Well, though this guy was an online match I have to say that I haven't given up in my search for the right one over the world wide web..... can't wait to tell you about my next adventure - he actually is supposed to call tonight!

Till then.....

Did I mention....

Did I mention that not only am I 30, single with my clock ticking, but I'm also of the Jewish faith - OYE! My family is "plotzing" that such a beauty with so much to offer is still single. So, I've revealed to them my secrets to beating the dating system - the net! I tried to offer my explaination on how many of these sites are only out to get you for your money and it's a business that they've established. They didn't understand why I don't just go to a Jewish Matchmaker and say "hey, little matchmaker - please find me a match!" I tried to explain to them the new wave of dating - the web - online technology and all that it has to offer. Granted, many times while talking about this I felt like it was speaking to a brick wall, but I did offer them the following site which made them feel better.

I've found a new site!!!! No, it's not Jmatch or Eharmony or even Yahoo Personals.... (been there done all that!) Rather, it's like meeting with a Matchmaker who can help me out. The site is called www.sawyouatsinai.com. It plays to the image of the olden days when singles who run to a matchmaker and get on their knees begging to be found a match, only it's new - safe and quite clever!

SawYouAtSinai.com offers the best of both worlds. I most definately recommend anyone of the Jewish faith to check this site out - I think you'll be beyond impressed and maybe even a bit blown away.

NY Single - Match Me A Mate - Be It Online Or Via a Date

So, here I am a NY singleton - looking for love in the big apple. Trying to weed out the good boys from the bad, the great sites from the one's that are sad. What's one to do these days? Where do you find a great catch for a mate? Or where do you find a matchmaker to get you a date. The old days were filled with the "matchmaker make me a match" routine from Fiddler On the Roof. Who would have ever thought that I would be 30 and still single and looking? Certainly not me - that "matchmaker matchmaker make me a match" song was something that my friends and I used to laugh about.... "a matchmaker!?!?, no freakin way", we'd say.... We're too young, too confident and way too pretty to have to use a matchmaker. Matchmakers are generally for people who have no clue how to be social with the real world, let alone with a pretty woman. And yet, here I am finding myself looking for love in all the places that I thought I would never have to use.

The dating frustration - the clock is ticking and the men (at least a few good men - I only need one) are next to impossible to find. So, what's a gal to do? The boom of the INTERNET!!! Well, there's a great way to put yourself out there and open yourself up to the entire world - quite literally.

I've had so many experiences in the dating world. Both internet/online dating, matchmaker dating, the "I have a friend who's a guy" way of dating and of course the meeting on my own. So, since I've been thru it all you'd wonder which I found most amusing/helpful/boring/exciting.... My personal experience in how to meet a mate is the online one. I can't help but be fascinated every time I go online and do a search only to find a new site that I didn't even know about. I quickly get to the link of it and do the whole "user name" and "password" and then tell the world what a great mate I would make and quickly find this single a match!

I'd love to hear if I'm the only one who comes back from these dates with stories. I've told myself over and over that one day I for sure have to write a book on my experiences. Call it the "Single Who Almost Met Her Mate In Cyber Space."
